I am a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) of Music Theory at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

My research interest is in the intersections between music and language, body, performance, and gender/intersectional identities. I conduct musical, timbral, ethnographical, and computational analyses to inform my research questions. These inquiries include intersections of feminist theory, critical theory, timbre, and voice in Japanese popular music and contemporary music, as well as the global history of music theory exchanges between East Asia and the West.
